Ben's Descriptive Writing

WALHT build a picture in the reader's head.

I can use adjectives.
I can use adverbs.
I can use precise nouns.
I can use similes.


This is an olden day Bullock team.

There are ten bullocks pulling a carriage. It has two small wheels at the front and two big wheels at the back, the carriage has brown curtains. The carriage is as big as an elephant.

The Bullocks are black and white. They are big, long, fat and chubby like a hippo.

There is a man with a brown hat making sure the bullocks don't go crazy.

There are steep, long, big mountains in the back ground.

In the olden days bullocks were used as transport.

Ethan's recount about Science Week

WALHT use time words in our recounts

Success Criteria:
I can use a variety of time words to seperate my ideas.
I can use words like: first, then, next, later, after and lastly. 





Mad Scientists

Room 16 has been doing experiments this week.

The first experiment was lemon fix. It was bubbly and fizzy and smelt like lemon.

Later on we did an experiment called ‘Oil and Water’, and the oil stayed on the top. The water turned red but it didn’t smell.


Lastly we did secret writing but the baking soda and white vinegar didn’t work but the lemon juice and Epsom salt worked.

Flynn's Writing

We are learning how to use better words in our writing.

Success Criteria:
I can use adjectives
I can use precise nouns
I can build a picture in the reader's head

I will try and eat at least 4 pieces of fruit each day like, juicy oranges, yummy kiwifruit, delicious watermelon and sweet plums.
The next thing I will do is eat more vegetables, I really like crunchy carrots and delightful brocoli. So they will be good for me. Lastly I want to try and get more exercise. I will do this by running down the hill and riding my bike.

Kyuss' writing

We are learning how to improve our writing.
Success Criteria:
I reread my writing.
I identify words I know are spelt incorrectly.
I attempt to correct misspelt words.
I add descriptive words to build a picture in my reader's head.





On Friday I planted a seed, it was flower seed a little brown seed, Other people did it too. I needed a seed and soil and a pot a little yoghurt pot. I will water it and give it some sun. I felt happy that I like it. It is going to grow to a big flower. I hope it grows to a flower.
